I'm a Suntory fanboy at heart. But every once in a while I do expand my palette by inspecting what the other players are up to. Georgia, a brand of coffee sold by Coca Cola in Japan, is a brand I will pick up when the vending machine lacks the familiar UCC or Suntory Boss Coffee Black colorways.

This one 「香る微糖」 Kaoru Bitō means Fragrant, Lightly Sweetened. It has some milk and sugar in it. They sell an unsweetened version too called 「香るブラック」 Kaoru Black, which lacks the milk and sugar.

On cracking the cap, the bold aroma betrays this drink's depth immediately. And true to Georgia's name for this canned coffee, it tastes only so slightly sugary. The addition of sugar has cut some of the bitter notes out and made the drink more mild, more agreeable to a delicate palette. But not significantly.

If you didn't want to drink this all in one go you could reseal it. But why would you do that? True coffee heads rejoice.
